Jim spent his youth in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and has been a resident of Frederick City for over thirty years. He is an abstract painter known for his use of bold color and elegant line. An avid hiker and fly fisherman he draws inspiration from the nature around him, be that hiking the Appalachian Trail or wading the Yellow Breeches while casting to a rising trout.
