Marshall Kinsley went to the Schuler School for the Arts. He taught in a school for the arts, gave classes at his studio, judges shows, and gives workshops. He is past president of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Charcoal Club and founder of a traveling plein-air group of artists who travel, paint, and then give a show of their work. His work is in private collections across the country and in Europe. He works in oil and watercolor, primarily interpreting the landscape in plein-air and studio work. He also finds the challenge of painting portraits and figurative work compelling. He remarks, “I seek to find the balance between crisp color notes within a tonalistic value pattern.”
